In some situations, it may become necessary to reassign a job to a new client. This article provides a detailed guide on how to reassign a job in G.J. Software.

Note: This process requires the Reassign Jobs permission to be enabled in your user role’s Office Role Permissions.

Getting Started

Before beginning the reassignment process, ensure that the new client to whom the job will be reassigned has already been created in the system.

Steps to Change Client

  1. Navigate to the Jobs List:

    • On the navigational sidebar, select Jobs.

    • From the expanded menu, select Job List.

    • A list of all active jobs will be displayed.

  2. Select the Job:

    • Locate and select the job that needs to be reassigned.

  3. Access the Change Client Function:

    • With the job selected, go to File in the top menu.

    • Click on Change Client.

  4. Find the New Client:

    • In the Find Customer window that opens, enter the name of the new client in the search field.

    • Click Search to locate the client.

  5. Assign the New Client:

    • Once the new client’s name appears in the search results, select it.

    • Click Add Selected to assign this client to the job.

    • The selected new client is now attached to the job.

Important Considerations

  • If the new client falls out of contract, the client can be reassigned again as needed.

  • Any electronically sent documents associated with the previous client should be canceled to prevent confusion or miscommunication.

Any documents shared on the customer portal with the previous client should also be unshared.

By following these steps, the reassignment of a job to a new client can be handled smoothly and efficiently in G.J. Software. This ensures that all job records are updated accurately, maintaining clear and organised job management.
