Version: Frontend 5.4.16 / Backend 5.4.41
This month’s release introduces a fantastic time-saving feature for communications, enhances the reliability of document handling, and delivers important fixes to ensure smooth, uninterrupted workflows. These updates focus on improving your day-to-day productivity and strengthening the stability of the platform.
New Features
Communications
Auto-populate Email Addresses in Communications
To help you work faster, the "To" field will now automatically populate with contact email addresses when you send an email from the communications tab. You can easily select from primary and secondary emails, and the field remains fully editable to add other recipients as needed.
Improvements
File & Document Management
Smarter Handling of Large Email Attachments
Sending large files from job orders is now more reliable. Attachments over 40MB are automatically converted to a secure Google Drive link at the bottom of the email, ensuring your message is always delivered without being blocked by attachment size limits.
Improved Access to Contacts and Sales Folders
You can now open contacts and sales folders even if the linked Google Drive folder was deleted or not successfully created. This enhancement prevents workflow interruptions and ensures you can always access your essential records. Folders can always be recreated via the validate folder icon when hovering over a job or contact.Automated Google Drive Permissions for Franchisee User Transfers
When office ownership is transferred, Google Drive folder permissions are now updated automatically. This ensures the new Franchise Owner has immediate and seamless access to critical documents like Letter Templates without requiring manual intervention.
Fixed Issues
Overriding Colour Selections
We fixed a rare issue where, under specific circumstances related to document signing dates, users were unable to create or override colour selections for a job.Expired Link When Accessing Printed Job Orders
We resolved an issue where an expired link could cause an "access denied" error when viewing printed job orders. Links to these documents now remain active and accessible.Graphic Takeoff (GTO) View Stability
We addressed an internal server error that could occur from a corrupted view in the GTO, which in some cases prevented a sale from being completed. The system is now more resilient.
Rollout Information
This release is being rolled out on the following schedule:
United States & Australia: All features and fixes are available now.
New Zealand: All features and fixes will be available starting September 30, 2025.
Known Issues
No new critical known issues have been introduced with this release. However, we are aware of the following item:
Emailing Internal Employees
When sending an email using the new communications workflow, selecting an internal employee contact may populate their personal email address (often used for HR purposes) instead of their official G.J. user login email. We are developing a fix to ensure that selecting an active employee will always use their correct G.J. branded email address in a future update.
What's Next
Our teams are already focused on the next round of updates, which include powerful new features and important reliability fixes. We’re making it easier to find and manage your contacts by introducing an enhanced lead search that finds approximate matches and by streamlining the e-document signing process with auto-populated owner details. Alongside these new features, we are continuing to improve the accuracy of our estimating tools and are resolving the installation issue with the G.J. Manage mobile app. To see what's coming and to have your say, follow along on our public roadmap. Be sure to vote on the features and improvements that matter most to you to automatically receive updates on their progress.
