We've been adding tons of new features to improve the user experience of schedules and increase visibility into insightful job data.

See below for the latest scheduling updates.

Latest Releases

Enhanced Task Management

Exclude $0 Cost Centres from Schedules

We've streamlined your scheduling process by automatically creating Schedule Tasks only for Job Orders with amounts greater than $0. Tasks from the same Cost Centre are now grouped and linked to the parent Critical Path task, rather than being added to the bottom of the list. This highly requested feature ensures your schedules remain focused on financially relevant tasks.

Create New CCO Tasks in Job Schedules

When new job orders or variations are added, the system now automatically creates new CCO schedule tasks and groups orders from the same cost centre. A new dialog manages Job Orders with amounts greater than $0, showing key details. Supervisors are notified of new tasks, and the Gantt Chart now has a 'Var' column indicating tasks from Job Estimates.

First, the estimate adds a new order or gives a cost to an existing $0 order in the job estimate. Then they are prompted to optionally add the order as a new CCO task to the schedule.

Then in the schedule, the Supervisor sees the newly added CCO task as an unconfirmed purchase order that must be approved. Visual indicators on the screen help guide the user through which tasks have been created for them.

Clone CCO Tasks on Schedules

We've added a new 'Clone' icon to CCO tasks that are not 100% completed or marked as deleted. This feature is particularly helpful when a subcontractor needs to return to the site multiple times to perform work but is issued a single job order. Cloned tasks appear as separate tasks in vendor reports, giving you more flexibility in managing complex projects.

Delete/Undelete Tasks from Schedule

You can now delete tasks from the schedule, including certain CCO tasks from the Critical Path. Deleted tasks are marked, not removed, and a confirmation dialog will appear. Marked tasks are shown in red with the 'Show Deleted' switcher on and are not editable. An 'Undelete' icon allows you to restore tasks when needed.

Improved Resource Management

Resource Conflict Highlighting

We've introduced a new feature to highlight tasks with overlapping resources across all schedules in red. You can now click an information icon to view conflicting schedules and navigate directly to them, enabling quick identification and resolution of resource allocation issues across projects.

Expand the Current Tasks Pane

When editing a schedule task, you can now expand the Current Task pane to see all of the resource schedule conflicts more easily. Click and drag the window to make it larger or smaller as needed.

Notify Estimator of Resource Changes

The system now sends notifications to Estimators via ToDo tasks and email when resources for job orders are updated or deleted. For printed purchase orders, Estimators must make these updates manually. New ToDo Permissions have been added to Office Role Permissions, which need to be activated for the Estimator's user role to enable this feature.

Enhanced User Interface and Interaction

Open 'Edit Task' Dialog on Gantt Chart Bar Double-Click

You can now double-click a task bar on any Gantt chart to open the 'Edit Task' dialog. This dialog allows editing of the Task Name, Start Date, Duration, Resource dropdown, Description, Confirmed with, On Date, and For Date. The End Date is auto-calculated if the Duration is changed, and the Completion percentage updates when the 'Done' button is pressed.

Undo/Redo in Schedules and Worksheets

We've added 'Undo' and 'Redo' icons to Schedule Gantt Charts, including Combined Gantt Chart, Schedule Templates, and the Worksheet view. These icons become active when changes are made, allowing you to undo or redo actions such as moving rows, editing task details, adding or deleting tasks, and editing forms.

Full Screen View in Schedule Gantt Chart

A new 'Fullscreen' button has been added to all Schedule and Schedule Template Gantt Charts, including the Combined Gantt Chart. This button toggles the Calendar to full screen mode, which can be exited by pressing the icon again or the Esc button.

Print Gantt Chart in Schedules

We've added a new 'Export to PDF' button to all Schedule and Schedule Template Gantt Charts, including the Combined Gantt Chart. This button allows you to choose between a single page or multi-page PDF that displays all tasks on the Gantt chart.

Reporting Improvements

Exclude Completed Jobs from Reports

Tasks from completed jobs will now be excluded from the following reports: Supervisor's Schedule, Per Supervisor Report, Vendor Report, and Simplified Chart for Multiple Job Report.

Hide Completed Tasks in Selected Reports

Completed tasks are now excluded by default from the following reports: Job Construction Schedule, Supervisor's Graphic Timeline, Supervisor's Schedule, Job Schedule Worksheet Summary, Per Supervisor Report, and Vendor Reports. A checkbox has been added to view completed tasks if desired.

Supervisor Details in the Vendor Report

A new checkbox has been added to the Vendor Report to switch to 'Supervisor' view. When ticked, and if 'Send to Sub-Contractors and Suppliers' is also ticked, the report will show Supervisor Name and Supervisor Phone Number instead of Client Name and Job Number.

Exclude Suppliers from Vendor Reports

A new checkbox has been added to Creditor/Supplier contact details to exclude them from receiving Vendor Reports. Vendors with this checkbox ticked will be excluded from the reports.

Enhanced Schedule Overview and Navigation

Combined schedule summary and Gantt

We've made it twice as fast to access schedules and combined the best of the summary and Gantt chart screens. Critical Paths are now expanded by default, the Gantt chart can be snapped open/closed and saves users' preferences. More colour-coding has been added to distinguish on-screen changes. All tasks are now searchable and tasks are sorted.

Quick navigation in header menu

Screen real estate is valuable. We increased the size of the schedule by 33% by moving the key dates into the header menu, giving you more room to work with. You can also click on the job number in the schedule to quickly navigate to job details to view important job information. Then click back to the job schedule to continue making edits.

Improved Filtering and Personalization

Changes to filters on schedule lists

Date checkboxes now use a drop down menu to manage the date status (set or unset) for improved clarity. This applies to:

  • Authority to Commence Date on Preconstruction Schedules

  • Handover Date on Construction Schedules

  • Completed Date and Handover Date on Maintenance Schedules

Filter Schedules by Supervisor

Now when looking at construction schedules you can select which Supervisors' schedules you'd like to view. By default you will see All schedules. If a user is made inactive the schedule will appear in the Unassigned list until it is reassigned to another Supervisor.

My Jobs Toggle

Now you can view just the jobs you've been assigned to in Construction, Preconstruction, and Maintenance and Warranty Schedules. Users are assigned to jobs from the Job Details screen.

Preconstruction Worksheet Filters

Preconstruction Schedule filters are now applied to the Worksheet view giving you more control over what you see on the worksheet view. When you select various filters and then click the Worksheet button, only the jobs from the schedules list will appear on the worksheet.

Enhanced Task Management

Search tasks in schedules

Now you can search by task name, task number, cost center, or assigned resource in schedules. As you begin typing the results will begin to appear.

Edit resources directly from the Schedule

The 'Resource' column is now an autocomplete field on Schedule Gantt Charts, including the Combined Gantt Chart. Users can inline edit resources for specified task types, with active Resources and Employees shown and sorted alphanumerically. Preferred suppliers for the cost centre are displayed at the top of the list and bolded for quick access. Deleting a resource will also remove the Creditor/Supplier for the associated Job Order.

Assign employee contacts to tasks

Users can now assign an employee to any schedule task. The employee selection list prioritises preferred CC resources in bold, followed by other active creditor/supplier contacts relevant to the current office. The "Users Resources" table is relabelled to "Employees Resources" and displays only active employees for specific task types.

Construction worksheet columns integrated with job schedule

Now Supervisors can update their worksheets directly from their job schedule. New columns have been added for Confirmed with, On Date and For Date.

Add Notes for Tasks

The 'Notes' column on Schedule and Schedule Template Gantt Charts now shows the most recently created note. Users can edit the latest note inline, similar to the Task Name column. An icon next to each note allows users to add new notes, opening the standard 'Add Note' dialog. When a new note is added, it appears immediately in the 'Notes' column as the most recent note.

Visual Enhancements and Task Completion

Done button colours

Now done buttons have more colours so you can easily denote if they are completed or not. White buttons with an outline are 0%, light coloured are in progress, and dark coloured buttons are 100% complete.

Click "Done" once to 100% complete

No more double-clicking to complete a task. Just click done once to change the task completion to 100%. Double-clicking will change it to 50%. A third click will change it back to 0%.

Base date shading on Gantt Chart

More contrast has been added to the Done button and tasks on the Gantt chart to make it more obvious which tasks are in progress and which ones have been completed. When you switch on the Show Base Dates toggle the variance from the original schedule is denoted in a shaded box so you can see how far ahead or behind you are.

Schedule Management and Automation

Automatically save Base Dates

When a schedule is created and saved for the first time the user is prompted to save base dates for the new schedule. Also, if no tasks are completed and the user makes changes to the schedule, then a task is made 100% complete, the system asks to save new Base Start/End dates. This enhancement improves reporting accuracy for offices by ensuring base dates are accurately reported.

Delete predecessors from Gantt Chart

Users can now double-click on a predecessor line in the Gantt Charts to delete task relationships. A confirmation dialog with YES/NO options will appear, allowing users to confirm their choice.

Insert tasks after selected task

New tasks are added immediately after the selected task in the list. Task numbers and relationships are automatically updated to reflect the change.

Sequential Task Numbers

Task numbers and predecessors automatically update when a task is moved in schedules. This ensures all schedule task numbers in existing schedules and templates remain in ascending order. The $TaskNumber placeholder will be removed from the ToDo templates to eliminate any confusion.

Integration and Simplification

Access purchase orders from schedules

Now printed job orders are available directly from the corresponding schedule task if they have been printed by the Estimator.

Hours no longer displayed in schedules

Job schedules no longer display the redundant 08:00 to 16:00 hours in the start/end dates. All schedule tasks already default to 1 day. This change reduces clutter on the screen making it easier to see important information.
